THE GAME OF LIFE Rules of the game for new players 1. You will receive a body. You may love it or hate it, but it’s yours for the whole of your life. 2. You will be given lessons. You’re enrolled in a school with no holidays and no days off, called life. 3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth comes through trial and error. “Failed” experiments are as much a part of the path as the ones that worked. 4. A lesson repeats until you learn it. It will come back in different forms, again and again. Once you learn it, you move on to the next. 5. Learning never ends. No part of life is without lessons. As long as you live, they will keep coming. 6. “There” is no better than “here”. When “there” becomes “here”, you’ll find a new “there” that again looks better. 7. Others are your mirrors. You can’t love or hate something in someone unless you recognise it in yourself. 8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. The choice is yours. 9. The answers are inside you. All you need to do is look, listen and trust. 10. You will forget all this. Based on “If Life Is a Game, These Are the Rules” by Chérie Carter-Scott (1998).
